ted newton - president

ted newton has worked on many campaigns over the years, including as a senior communications adviser to the romney-ryan 2012 campaign, leading the research effort for the vice-presidential vetting process. newton was also a delegate from the district of columbia to the 2012 republican national convention.

before founding gravity, ted worked in research and communications positions at dci group, the republican national committee, the national republican senatorial committee, and the romney 2008 campaign.

ted graduated from cornell university with a degree in government. he is a native of pennsylvania, and currently lives with his wife in georgetown.


doug patch - research analyst

before doug patch joined gravity in 2014, he worked in the digital department of the national republican congressional committee. doug has also worked with freedomworks, linda mcmahon for senate, and in the office of then-rep. shelley moore capito, among other positions.

doug earned a b.a. in communication studies with a specialization in media and government from american university. he is a native of connecticut, and currently resides in chevy chase.


mathew reed - research assistant

mathew reed joined gravity in 2016, having previously worked in the media relations department at the cato institute. mathew worked on senator rand paul’s 2016 presidential campaign in iowa leading up to the iowa caucuses, and on minority outreach with the georgia republican party. 

mathew earned a b.a. in political science from morehouse college in atlanta. he is a native of texas and currently resides in foggy bottom.
